The C-DAB module has independent antenna connections for DAB, FM and AM bands. The T-4555’s slot-type bay (isolated to minimize any interference with internal circuitry) allows for any future upgrades that could be in store. It also includes some functions for DAB such as a DRC (Dynamic Range Control) setting that lets you reduce the dynamic range of the DAB digital programming. This enables you to hear the quiet passages in the music even when you’re listening at low volume—perfect for when you might disturb others late at night. You can also choose the DAB band you want to use, and display the current reception quality necessary to decode the current multiplex. DAB Radio Programming with CD-Quality Audio - While quality radio programming has never gone out of style, poor reception has caused radio’s popularity to wane over the years. DAB has changed all that. Using radio signal obstacles as reflectors, DAB actually optimizes receiver sensitivity and it can automatically select the strongest regional transmitter to ensure you’re always at the focal point of incoming signals, which means a static-free radio reception without irritating hiss. With the T-4555’s slot-in module, you can access some of the most exciting programming with pristine audio quality. The first time you select DAB on the T-4555, the tuner will automatically scan Band III and the L-Band for your nearest signal. Besides interference-free audio, DAB also brings you text information related to programming (perhaps lyrics to a song or up-to-date scores of sporting fixtures). You can store up to 40 DAB, FM or AM stations by using the preset button on your remote control.
