Onkyo launches the CBX-300, a practical, space-saving system with amazing music performance for any room in the home.

Packed with innovative technology and delivering exceptional audio in spite of its small dimensions, the Onkyo CBX-300 combines compelling versatility with intuitive ease of use.

Groebenzell, Germany, February 18, 2008. With the CBX-300 from Onkyo, there’s music in the air, and not just in your living room. The space-saving CD receiver system with amazing audio performance combines an iPod-dock, a CD-player, a RDS-radio and a pair of excellent speakers in an elegant chassis that you can set up almost anywhere without the hassle of cabling – in an office or workshop, kitchen or bathroom. With the CBX-300, you can have perfect audio in any room you choose. With its four-mode timer and sleep timer, it’s a great choice for the bedroom, where it can lull you to sleep and wake you gently with your favorite music. That way, you begin every day relaxed and in a good mood. And Onkyo has even added a snooze function for sleepyheads.

Space saver
Now in its second generation, the Onkyo CBX-300 CD receiver system sports a smart new black design, a built-in iPod docking station, and wonderfully balanced music performance. Outstanding audio quality was a key focus for engineers developing the CBX-300. The challenge in designing the CBX-300 lay in delivering the best possible sound quality in spite of the compact dimensions and the limited amplifier output. A key decision was to make the CBX-300’s chassis more rigid to avoid unwanted resonance. Also, the speakers are mounted in a separate enclosure inside the main chassis to eliminate annoying interference.

Small size, big sound
The CBX-300’s crisp high-frequency response and clean middle range were achieved using OMF (Onkyo Micro Fiber) speaker diaphragms. OMF is a pure, ultra-fine cotton weave that absorbs vibrations yet is stiff enough to enable a fast, accurate response. Intensive research and development work on the size and form of the Onkyo Aero Acoustic Drive bass reflex channel also greatly improved the bass response. Preset equalizer settings – Standard, Dynamic, Vocal and Clear – let you tailor the audio output perfectly to your personal preferences, and with its Active Bass Control, the CBX-300 can deliver deep bass, even at low volume levels.

Multi-talent
With this all-in-one system, besides listening to radio or playing regular audio, MP3 and WMA CDs, you can also slot the latest iPods* directly into the top-loading dock to listen to AAC/MP3 files and podcasts. Unlike the bulk of music systems designed to incorporate the iPod, this system has been designed to deliver serious audio quality and the most natural music playback. The accompanying remote control and the CBX-300’s display let you skip through tracks or switch to shuffle mode from the comfort from your sofa. And with CDs or CD-RWs of MP3 or WMA files, you can even browse through the folders to find tracks. The Display button on the remote control lets you view information on the current track, like the name of the artist, the title, or the album. With RDS the radio shows station names, some stations even show traffic information and news and with Accuclock the time is always set correctly.
