After months of intermittent hdmi problems my Onkyo TX-NR709 has finally lost all sound and networking, like so many others. Will this be covered even though the machine was purchased in December 2011?

I've emailed your support twice regarding my TX-NR709 Receiver. The first time was at least 10 days ago, and I have received no answer at all. I am from Sweden and contacted the european support, the support email was in english and contained the units serial number. I was guessing that you'd rather get this type of case using email instead of calling your support desk.Could you please get in touch with me and maybe answer my case.Regards

Another TX-NR709 with the infamous no sound & no network problems. Just over 2 years old, and it reared it's head in the warranty period. Unfortunately in the beginning it was intermittent that I didn't click that it was the 709 that was the issue. I thought it was the source that was the issue and after turning various things on and off, the sound would come back. Over the last couple of months it has got far worse and could be rectified by physically unplugging the mains a couple of times. On new years eve it decided to not reset itself at all and is now an expensive black box which does nothing. Great when we had a house full of guests for a party and at the last minute had to use a pokey little mini system!! I hope this isn't the start of a battle to get them to rectify it without significant cost, given that it's a very well documented problem (design flaw, or poor component quality)... time to put Onkyo Customer service to the test I guess!!
HI. I have a TX-NR709. It'a a wonderfull machine, but i have a problem. I have connected to the HDMI outputs (2) a plasma and a projector. Most of the time that I'm using the projector output, amplifier cuts the picture and sound for 2 or 3 seconds and then become normally again again. Immediately repeat this anoing thing. After recovery, it will not happen again. This always happens between 30 and 40 'of reproduction. What is happen? It did this from the first time i turn it up. Thanks
Hi, I would like my Onkyo TX-NR709 to support ALAC format. I now store flac and alac files on my Nas. Flac for my Onkyo and ALAC for my iPhone. Apple will burn down before they support flac so my hope is on you. Please support ALAC in the new firmware.

Hi, TX-NR709 can to set PC IN output to projector(VGA).
Hello Chatchai, you can not switch the PC input (VGA) to an output. You need an additional hardware, an HDMI to VGA converter.
Hi . The PC input (VGA) cannot be configured as an output, you have to use the HDMI out, you may be able to find a device that converts the HDMI to a analogue signal for your projector.
Hi can somebody please help me.I have the tx nr 709 and lately my klipsch sub that is hooked up to my amp seems to get distorted every once in a while.then eventually stop working but my other 5 speakers work perfectly through this.ill shut my system off for about 15 min and turn back on everything seems fine.it really happend during heavy bass scenes.Is my sub going bad or is it my amp.I think its my sub but not sure.what do you think?
And when I turn the volume on my sub up and down.it sound distorted sometimes.
