Har problem med min tx nr-509 efter senaste uppdateringen. Network setup och update menyn kommwr man ej åt och det står now initializing hela tiden och inget händer. Vad ska jag göra?
Hello Niklas, please test the unit for function again after a reset of the unit. Hold the CBL/SAT button and additionally press the Standby button of your unit. Is there going to be the ability to use UBT-1 with 2011 models, like TX-NR509 in future?
I am afraid the UBT-1 will only work with x1x series units.
Two weeks ago my TX NR-509 gave up mysteriously after a network update. You were not especially helpful when I raised this issue and did not even offer an apology, simply the location of a service centre that was a four-hour round trip (albeit on a German service page even though I wrote to you in English). Many companies send the customer a packing box, especially if, like me, they cannot drive. Taking a large unit like this on public transport is simply impractical.Thankfully I purchased the unit from Richer Sounds, who, as always, have bent over backwards to get this sorted.As it turned out, the HDMI board in the kit had been faulty from day one and was replaced by GenServe (thanks for hiding behind this instead of raising it as a possibility), who also did me the courtesy of completely mangling the 13A plug included with the unit. This could have caused severe injury or death had I not checked it first. I do sincerely hope that my complaint on this Facebook page and this destruction of customer property are an unfortunate coincidence and merely an accident.Richer Sounds have carried the can for you by couriering me a replacement within an hour, which I daresay has cost them substantially. I have also purchased their in-house warranty and, by extension, use of their own repair team. I will be writing to their CEO to laud this service, as he writes back to customers personally, and also forwarding your CEO a copy of the letter (I should like their address, please). You can compare the experience I have had at Richer Sounds with the one you've given me and see how they stack up (clue: not favourably for you).You need to understand that social media is not just a tool for self promotion. It is also your understanding that you are opening yourself up publicly to consumer criticism, which needs to be dealt with appropriately.

Hi,I bought a TX-NR509 the 23-06-2011. One fine day HDMI outputs are not working, saying No Signal.However if i connect Bluray/Sat Tv directly to TV on HDMI inputs, they work fine, but not via the Onkyo receiver (using HDMI). Only issue is with HDMI, not displaying any video or sound.Could you please help me?KR.Benjamin from Belgium

I reconnected all the cables between the different devices and the main unit and it works again. No blinking image. I don't understand. Do you think it will be defect in the future? Do you advise me to return my Onkyo as I'm still in a warranty period?Thanks a lot,Benjamin
Hello Benjamin, we recommend that you watch over your receiver and if the same thing occurs again or some other problem then let the unit be checked by the service point.

it is - the link just points to a general download site, ignore the list there. if you search e.g. for 509 you will find the link to Firmware Update TX-NR509 (11-04-2013)

no, i just did the update on the TX NR 509 and the settings did not get wiped

What does it do?
Worked fine for the TX-NR509 via wired LAN.
My TX-NR5010 shuts down the display during the update, and I have to pull the power cord, to get i to respond again. and now, the firmware states 1040-4103-0100-0000, instead of 1060-4103-0100-0000. Is that ok? Everything works.
EDIT: Everything worked after a reset. It now states 1060-4103-0100-0000.

I just updated my NR509 and I lost sound, NET and USB functionality. Is the only solution the service center in this situation?I have tried reset and plugging the cord, but neither of those makes no change to the amp.

Isn't there anything I can do myself instead of going to a service center? Has the same problem as Riku and Graham. Lost sound, Network, USB on my TX-NR509.
Hi. I have an TX-NR509, and i have it connected to my Airport Exreme. Suddenly i can not use the app on my iphone for some reason. I was told that i could try to dedicate a ip to the Onkyo in the router. Anyone knows how?
Hello Liv-Randi, please check your Ip-Address. The third group may not be "Zero". If yes, restart your router in order to use a different number.
Onkyo TX-NR509 - Recently I noticed an intermittent problem of using the NET function and getting a msg "now initializing". I did a rebot (disconnected power to the receiver and modem) and the issue went away. But yesterday I no longer get any sound on any of the functions, the "now initializing" is there all the time, and I cannot access the update function to check/perform a firmware update. Any suggestions????
Should I take it somewhere to have it looked at????

HI, the first thing I would do is to power cycle the 509 ( without the ethernet cable plugged it ) then power cycle your router (wait 5mins) and allow your router to settle down ,then connect the ethernet lead again and try again, if it happens again I would recommend trying a different router because that maybe the cause of the problem.
TX-NR509 problem. Please help. Until recently all has been well. As the onkyo 2 app isn't compatible with my iPad I downloaded oRemote. This was working fine but all of a sudden I am having problems. I have the receiver connectd to a Ethernet cable instead of the dongle so signal is good. I cannot switch on the receiver via an app. The receiver is in my loft which is 2 storeys above my living room where I listen to the music. If I go to the receiver and switch it on manually, then take the Ethernet cable out of the hub, after a few attempts I am up and running and able to use the iPad to control the receiver. I can then switch the receiver off using my iPad but it won't switch back on again. If I don't pull the Ethernet cable it comes up with searching for devices, It the finds my device, I select it but then it freezes. I tried using the onkyo remote app from my iPod but this loses connection as well. Help please

Hi MarkWhen the problem first started I was using BT infinity hub. Someone told me the wireless keeps dropping but I have the onkyo amp connected via a Ethernet cable. Just in case it was hub problem, I changed last week to Sky hub. It has made no difference.
Have you turned on the network control in the AVR ( a good way to check this is if all is ok & you can power off, but not turn on. Then turn on manually and everything is ok again, it is a sure sign the 'Network standby is not turned on ).

People here that are using the onkyo TX-NR509 connected through hdmi with a raspberry pi? Can you use the remote to control the pi?
While Onkyo provides remote controls that allow for control of other components from other manufacturers we cannot guarantee that the Onkyo remote will be able to command every product out there. Some of our remotes do have a learning facility so this can be used ( normally the 8xx series and above). If you are having problems with your remote controlling other products please try learning the codes from the original remote (if possible). If your remote control is the ‘pre-programmed’ type and does not contain the information to control your other products, you can purchase one of the upper handsets(from an service centre) to enable you to control your other components.
