#OnkyoEU Today my TX-NR509 stopped working.It produces no more sound. The Network and Firmware Update functions are grayed out..It sounds like the well-known HDMI-board issues that a lot of users have.Is there a way to get the receiver up and running again?A lifetime of 2,5 years for such equipment is too short, so I'd hate it if this is the end of this neat receiver.
Tried to find an email address on the webpage, but no success. So my question. I have a tx-nr509 reciever bought december -11. Now it is not working, no sound on any outgoing channels. Is this a problem you have Heard of before? Is there a guarantee, or what it's called? What should I do?
Hi. I tried to submit a support request on your website @ http://www.uk.onkyo.com/en/contact-42204.html - when I submit my enquiry it fails to show a success message. The sound on my Onkyo TX-NR509 AV Receiver has stopped working. Please can you assist me getting this functional again? Thanks, Pete
Have to comment on Onkyo's Customer Support. Own a TX-NR509 AV Receiver which developed the well known premature failure of its output pcb, out of warranty. Further to contacting Customer Service and mentioning the 'Sale of Goods Act' 'Fit for Purpose' They promptly phoned me and offered a completely free goodwill repair including free collection and delivery to GenServe, Swindon.The TX-NR509 is now perfect with latest firmware update, thanks to Onkyo's Joseph Yeung (Customer Care) outstanding customer service.Not related to this particular problem, but owners of AV Amplifiers please allow sufficient air gap above the unit as these babies don't like to be over-heated.
I have TX-NR509 and the sound has just failed (network / settings also show as greyed out). Seems to be the same problem that has been reported on a lot of AV forums. It is just over 2.5 years old how do I get it fixed ?
My TX NR509 has suddenly stopped working no sound through machine, checked internet and there seems to be hundreds with the same hdmi board failure. like many mine is now just over two years old and am shocked at the issue of using a inferior component in this device.I have recently just purchased TX NR626 and am worried about this now and will it last? at present feel like returning to swap for another manufacturer. please advise on what can be done with my Tx NR509 as i see many have been repaired and would like my machine back up and running.
Hi I have problems with my TX-NR509 no sound. The network settings, updating and speaker settings are gray highlighted. I am extremely disappointed in you, then my last amp was a TX-SR605 as HDMI board broke down after 3 years and it was not under warranty. When I bought this iställe and now after 2.5 years, quit this work. I expect extreme support from you this time. My confidence ONKYO right now is zero.
Hi Onkyo Europe, I just have to write and thank you for the outstanding support I received when my TX-NR509 gave up a few months ago as I got the well known "dead HDMI input"-problem. Sent it for goodwill service repair and the receiver now works as it should (maybe even better - quicker startup) and my confidence in the Onkyo brand is fully restored, thanks!
Dear Onkyo, I bought a TX-NR509 at IBOOD on 27 September 2011. Since yesterday, just over 2,5 years later, no sound, no network. On the internet I am reading that many users have the same problem. I don't think 2,5 years for this kind of equipment is a normal lifetime. I also read that Onkyo is aware about this problem and offers a free out of warranty repair. I would like one of those. Please give me info on how to have my receiver repaired under that program. Thanks
Dear Onkyo, I would like to say that I'm very pleased with your customer service! Just about week ago my TX NR 509 seized to work. Which I also posted on this page. Well, I'm typing this whilst listening to one if my Spotify playlists, streaming it from my 509!One day after my post, I received my ticket and a couple of days later my receiver was being repaired. Alas, this morning the mailman gave me a well closed box which had my receiver in it! It working like a charm again! I can even say that the sound quality has improved since the last time it played!Note that the entire repair took place while the warranty was expired!Excellent work!! Thanks a lot.
